Please direct adoption questions to the BLM, not to me.

And we sure as heck are not a Mustang car dealership!

Palomino Valley has some really nice horses right now! These pictures were taken April 5. Some of the horses pictured are available now by adoption appointment (note: you must make an appointment to adopt - call 775 475-2222 to set up your adoption appointment) and some are being held for the big SPECIAL SATURDAY JUNE 18 ADOPTION. The horses for this adoption will be ready to go - brand inspected, Coggins tested, males gelded. All horses are vaccinnated, wormed, and hooves periodically trimmed.

If you like COLOR - this adoption is for you! They've got it - every color imagineable, including duns, pintos, palominos, buckskins, appaloosas, roans, even a few rare blue roans, cremello/perlinos, and whites, as well as a few greys.

Most of the horses currently at PVC are from the Granite Range, which tends toward the working ranch cowhorse type, and is a very colorful herd, with cremes and pintos galore. There are also a few horses at PVC from Goshute, Little Owyhee, and a few other HMA's that have been gathered in late 2004 and early 2005. The Calico Complex (Calico Mountains, Black Rock East and West, Warm Springs HMA's and Granite Range), which include a lot of big, sturdy draft-influenced and Cavalry Re-mount-influenced horses as well as lighter ranch horse types, is currently being held at an auxiliary facility that is not open to the public, but they will be there in time for the June 18 adoption.

Yearlings & Older Weanlings

These colorful yearlings are for the June 18 adoption

The pinto on the left is the closest I have ever seen to Sparky - in his winter woolies it is hard to tell for sure, but he may be a roan under the faded brown-black coat.

The yearlings from these pens are available now by adoption appointment

The Big Boyz

The red boys are big, sturdy horses. You can see how the black Freisian-type towers above them!
