Turning the public on to Mustangs and Burros
through education and entertainment

Napa Mustang Days is a BLM adoption and community event, giving the general public a chance to meet and enjoy horses and horse activities, and a day for the community to come together to have fun.

Leadership Napa Valley Class XXII joins with BLM in providing information and activities to encourage everyone to "Take It Outdoors!" Improve health and happiness through enjoying outdoor activities.

The event will be held at the Napa Valley Horsemen's Association on Foster Road. The Horsemen are celebrating their 70th Anniversary, and Mustang Days is their official celebration and Community Open House!

8 AM - Registration for Adopters opens at BLM Trailer

8 AM - All Day: Leadership Napa Valley/BLM
"Take It Outdoors, Napa!" Information Booth

"Kiss My Ass" Fundraiser for BLM Volunteer Program Activities

9AM - 10 AM - Competitive Bid Adoption

10 AM - 4 PM - Adoption continues on first come-first served basis

10 AM: Gentling Demos with Lesley Neuman

10 - 12 - "Wild Horse Annie Story Time" by Napa Lit
Each child may win a book to take home

11 AM - 1 PM - Barbecue Lunch served by the NVHA Junior Club

1:00 PM - ARENA SHOW. followed by Trainer Demos

  • BLM Adoption - healthy, trainable young wild horses & burros from our public lands
    • Horse & Burros arrive around 2 PM on Friday, May 15. The public is invited to come view the animals until 6 PM.
    • 8 AM Saturday, May 16, Adoption Registration opens
    • Saturday 9 - 10 AM - Competitive Bid Adoption
    • Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM - "First Come, First Served" Adoption continues uintil all are adopted or it is closing time, whichever comes first
  • Entertainment:
    • "Wild Horse Annie Story Time" with games and prizes for kids

    Arena Show:

    • Parade of Ambassador Horses & Burros
    • Arena "Acts" or Demos to showcase the trainability and versatility of mustangs and burros
    • We invite all of the horses & burros who were adopted at the 2007 Napa Mustang Days adoption, plus any others adopted during 2007 and 2008, to come back to the 2009 Mustang Days for a special "Baby, Look at Us Now!" presentation.
