I have NO horses or burros for sale and am not interested in buying or listing or otherwise promoting your sale animals! | This website: Copyright 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 All Rights Reserved. OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN WILD HORSE GENTLING:

| | Ruby's First Birthday - March 12, 2001
She's come a long way! Ruby and Michael: (left) in October (right) on her birthday, March 12
Is Ruby still a wild horse? Not even close! It is absolutely amazing to us how trustworthy, how kind, and how intelligent she is! The farrier describes her as "textbook" for the way horses are supposed to act when they get their feet trimmed. She just stands there quietly and lifts each foot as she is asked. Not that many domestic horses do as well! Ruby and Silver love their daily walk in the fresh green grass. Bringing Ruby into Silver's life has transformed Silver from an aging, failing, crotchety old bachelor to a soft and kind Foster Big Brother. He looks healthier and years younger, too! Ruby even gets him to run - hasn't done that in years.
What about that tractor? Ruby is curious - needs to check out anything different in her environment.

I always wondered what would happen if Ruby ever got loose. Would she decide to return to the wild? Would we ever catch her again? Well, it finally happened. Someone left the gate unlatched, and the horses got out. I went out side to get the ropes and halter, and perhaps a bucket of grain to lure them with, but not to worry: Ruby just came right up to me and asked for a scratch on the forehead!
